Silverchair and Powderfinger two of the best bands from Australia played at Vector Arena last night.
I went with my girlfriend to watch these guys play. I had so much excitement within me for the last 2 weeks since Linkin Park that when we were actually there I was dismayed by the whole gig. Sure Powderfinger was alright I could see people were getting right into it, but when Silverchair came on….it was pretty much average. It didn’t really give me all that adrenalin rush like LP did. And of course there was the sound issue at Vector Arena (I sure hope they fix that one pretty soon). From my opinion perhaps Silverchair just isn’t cut out for live concerts. I’d much rather enjoy listening to their album on my mp3
Still it wasn’t a bad girls night out.
By the way I’m sick of tall people pushing in and who end up standing infront of the shorties. If you know these people or if you recognise these heads please let these people know how wonderful they are for pushing in!

Chris Cornell headlining for LP was excellent singing some of his songs from Soundgarden and Audioslave. Having Chris Cornell and his sexy body is a bonus
Then came Linkin Park who put on an awesome Concert! I wish I’d gone to both nights. One of the best concerts I’ve been to. Loved all the songs old and new. 10 out of 10. The crowd just went crazy when they started singing In The End and Bleed it Out!
The concert was like the best of both worlds for people who either like CC or LP or both.
However having been to the new Vector Arena 4x this year I seem to be noticing the sound system is terrible. The vocals is a little bit hard to hear and a lot of vibration in the speakers. Somehow I don’t think Vector Arena is made for rock concerts…more like Hayley Westenra
But overall still a good night out and I can’t wait for Silverchair and Powderfinger next weekend!!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and last night we had the Dove Pink Star Walk. This 5km walk is a fund raising for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation and around about 5,000 people joined in men, women and children. Participants were encouraged to wear pink and the streets in the domain were lit up with pink lights as well. This is the 2nd year that Dove have started the Pink Star Walk.
It was quite exciting how many people turned up with their pink outfits and participated in the walk. Even the Auckland Sky tower was lit up in pink.
